SurveyMonkey and Lyft Move Ahead with IPO Plans

​Last week, public markets saw no introductions of private companies to public trading. However, two Silicon Valley heavyweights, Lyft and SurveyMonkey, took steps to advance their IPO ambitions.

• SurveyMonkey has filed for an IPO in late 2018, without disclosing the number of shares it will offer nor the price range. The 19-year-old San Mateo, California, company is an online provider of survey software products used to measure feedback. The company intends to use proceeds to pay down outstanding debt.

• Silicon Valley unicorn Lyft has hired an advisor, Class V Group, for its 2019 IPO plans. Lyft, a ride sharing service provider with operations in nearly 300 U.S. cities, is a close competitor for U.S. market share with Uber, who also plans a 2019 IPO. Lyft’s last round of financing in June 2018 valued the company at $15.1 billion.
