Omaha-Based Waitt Outdoor Acquired by Link Media Outdoor

​According to Pitchbook, mergers and acquisitions activity last week led to $12.29 billion in invested capital across 34 deals. The financial services sector led the way with $5.58 billion among only three deals. However, business-to-consumer firms announced nine deals, worth a disclosed $285 million. 

• Canadian holding company Premium Foods (TSE: PBH) has acquired Maine’s Ready Seafood in an effort to grow its seafood operation. Founded in 2004, Ready Seafoods has become one of the prime processors and distributors of lobster in the U.S., with three production facilities, all located in Maine. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

• Atlassian, a maker of platforms for coordinating software development, will pay $295 million to acquire OpsGenie, an on-call management system that alerts engineers and IT operatives to software and website outages. Through the deal, Atlassian will acquire 3,000 new clients to break into the software alerts market, currently led by ServiceNow.

• Link Media Outdoor, a subsidiary of Boston Omaha Corp, has acquired all the assets of Waitt Outdoor in a $82 million cash deal. Waitt Outdoor, an Omaha-based company, is a provider of outdoor advertising services with 1,600 structures and 2,500 advertising boards throughout Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri.

• Fintech company SS&C Technologies (NAS: SSNC) has announced its acquisition of data-sharing platform IntraLinks Holdings for $1.5 billion. Based in New York City, IntraLinks is a provider of cloud-based software that allows users to securely manage, control, track, search, exchange and collaborate on sensitive information.

• Chromatin, a Chicago seed company, has accepted a $23 million acquisition bid from S&W Seed Co., a Sacramento-based developer and manufacturer of alfalfa, sunflower, sorghum, and stevia seeds. Chromatin is focused on the research and development of high-yielding and drought-resistant sorghum, a crop used primarily for feeding livestock and as a biofuel. Chromatin currently has a portfolio of thirty patents.
