Oregon Trail Equipment, an owner and operator of seven John Deere implement dealerships in Nebraska and Kansas, has merged with LandMark Implement effective January 1, 2016. The merger expands Landmark’s network to 17 locations in Nebraska and Kansas, and is expected to double its sales and service area. Skyline Advisors (formerly CFO Capital) served as a strategic advisor to Oregon Trail Equipment during the merger discussions. An affiliate, CFO Systems, has also provided contract CFO services to Oregon Trail for the last several years. Rick Bennett, president and co-owner of Oregon Trail, commented “We appreciate the insight and perspective CFO Capital brought to the table as my family and I navigated this complex, and important, transaction.” Rick is retiring, but his two sons and co-owner, Mike Kongs, will remain with the merged entity.
In a news release announcing the merger, Landmark Implement CEO Andy Grollmes stated, “We’re extremely proud of the new affiliation with the Oregon Trail employees and customers. With the addition of seven new LandMark Implement locations, we will be able to offer an even more extensive parts and service network; a larger new and used equipment inventory and specialized product support.” John Gustafson, managing director of CFO Capital, added “We appreciated the opportunity to work with Oregon Trail and Landmark as they worked to find the optimal structure that met their respective goals, as well as the corporate goals of John Deere & Co.” Comments are closed.
